one step closer..

Well, we got an email saying that our shipment of household goods has arrived in San Diego!

Since greater San Diego is around 20-30 minutes from where we will be (Camp Pendleton is between LA and San Diego), I assume that it is the closest storage facility that Covan (one of the the moving companies that works with military) uses. It's so exciting to hear that because we are one step closer to being at our final destination!!

Every now and then I've been looking online for homes for rent out there, and I get so excited when I see how much house we're going to be able to get!! Quite a few of them within our BAH budget also have pools....That's my goal...Now it's just a matter of finding one and securing it (Probably by late January..) ensuring that they allow both dogs and cats...We are going to take Scruffy with us from Texas when we move, Can't Wait!!!

I also finished everything for Week 2 earlier today...25% of the way done with the Fall!!! I love love love these 8 week terms, because everything goes by so much faster, and I really feel like I get something accomplished in so little time, it's really awesome. I prefer it better than spending an entire four months working on the same amount of material....I think it's more rewarding accomplishing it all in less time.

In case you were one to read my previous entries about how frustrating the doctor situation was in Quantico (It took 3 months for them to refer me to the right one listened to what I knew I needed!) you would be happy to hear that the other day I went to the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune and was able to get in no problem. I already got the name of my PCM too, now it's just a matter of making an appointment. Seeing how easy it was to get everything done here, it's unbelievable the mess I had to go through in Quantico!!

So something happened to my phone the other day and the screen is cracked on the inside, and is all black/white/pixel-ish. Basically, it's dead. I spent half the day today trying to get a new one (traffic...) but when I finally found the Verizon store, they said they couldn't do anything for me unless Marshall was there. Bummer...But thankfully, his days are much shorter for this school, so hopefully we will be able to go back tomorrow to get me a new phone. I guess when we made the plan, I wasn't given "priveleges" or whatever it is..I even asked if I could use our Power of Attorney but they wouldn't take it! That seemed ridiculous..what if he was gone and I had this problem? POA should work in situations like this, as it would work in situations with rent or TMO...

In other news..I figured I'd start the whole month of thankfulness posts! Happy November!
Catching up on the past few days..

Today, I am thankful for...

Day 1: I am thankful for my best friend, my studmuffin, my Marshall, whom I was so blessed to marry a year ago! Thank you for teaching me how to change oil today in the freezing cold (40 degrees..)!

Day 2: I am thankful for being able to go back to school so soon, thanks to Liberty and the Pell Grant making it so affordable. Now since we're paying my own way, I am so much more motivated and it's a wonderful feeling!

Day 3: I am thankful for Liberty's religion courses which are required, which led me so much closer to the Word of God than I ever dreamed I would be. It has made me realize that my faith is much more important than trivial day-to-day matters, and it helps me to keep it in perspective with everything I do.

Day 4: I am thankful for that 8-10% chance of survival at birth (specifically of the surgery being technology, and all), allowing me to be here today. Seriously, when I heard my dad tell that story a few years ago I couldn't help but nearly break down.. I am truly so blessed to be here today, saved by the Grace of God! This also puts everything into perspective for me..

Day 5: I am thankful for our families; We will be with y'all again soon enough!!! (CHRISTMAS!!!)
