Wife 2 Wife #5

Wednesday, June 5, 2013

Why, hello there Wednesday! I have been falling a little behind on my blogging lately, end of the school year/start of summer is a hectic time around here. I have my summer classes, helping at the elementary school, planning summer family visits, and job interviews all on the horizon. Throw in my love for books and reading (basically constantly lately) and that makes for quite a busy May/June :)

Anyway, more on that later. Right now I'm concentrating on the Wives of Faith Wednesday linkups! The button below is linked back to their website if you'd like to join :) Description again is below..

Wife 2 Wife is an opportunity for you as a military wife to share your heart with another military wife on issues and challenges that all of us face at one time or another in military life and get to know a LOT of other military wives. This is your chance to connect with other Wives of Faith!
Some questions will be fun, some will be serious, but EVERY week will be a GREAT WEEK!

This week's question:

Ten years from now, where do you want to be? Why?

Let's see..Ten years from now I will be 30 going on 31. Almost sounds like that movie with Jennifer Garner, except instead of jumping a decade and a half I'm only moving into the next decade of my life. We should be past done with Marshall's military commitment, and already have our land back home in Texas and our dream home built,or nearly done building/adding on. I expect to have my own classroom in a surrounding district, and to be soaking it up. Maybe write a book. Definitely work overtime - and lots of it. Little by little improving the schools of today. By that time we expect to have children that are at least elementary school age, so that will be loads of fun..I'll be able to extend their lessons and materials at home, instill in them a love of reading, and volunteer in their classrooms, ensuring that they are always learning! Teaching them to be lifelong scholars. I think my personal goals are pretty simple: own land and our house, have my own classroom and rapport with students and staff, teach Sunday school and childcare at our church, travel the great state of Texas every chance we get, and see family on a regular/weekly basis. (Something I've never been able to do for an extended time growing up and moving with the military). I also hope for us to have been on several mission trips together by that time. I long to serve Christ and experience His love and a love for others in places like Africa or the Philippines, and this will enrich our marriage and spiritual growth, as well as instill a novice for missions in our family. It would be great to serve as a couple, and also as a family. We can even go somewhere more local, such as places devastated from natural disasters on our home turf, but this is something I aim for. Oh, and have nearly everything paid off that we are able, God-willing!

Why do I want these things? I guess they are life goals, and to me they seem pretty simple. It's what I've always wanted, what Marshall's always wanted. Our home, and land in Texas, a home church, being close to family, settling into that season of our lives, raising a family.. Seems pretty simple, commonplace to me, but that's just us! What do you want ten years from now?
